Quick and honest update about King’s Kiss. It’s been a really tough year all around, and it’s taken a toll on my mental and physical health. Between commissions falling behind schedule, manufacturers hiking prices or exorbitant tariffs, customs issues, and killer migraines, I was already dealing with quite a lot. So when I fell ill at the end of September, it honestly felt like this book was cursed.
I ended up having emergency surgery the first week of October. I’m completely fine and healing, but it’s taken me a couple of weeks to recover. With constant doctor visits and trying to finish revisions from bed, it’s clear As much as it hurts to say, I won’t make the October 28th release. I wanted it to be a Halloween book so badly. I’m so sorry.
I’m such a people-pleaser and (annoying) perfectionist, so it really sends me into a spiral when I feel like I’m letting you down. I’m halfway through revisions now, and the stubborn part of me still thinks I can keep my original date, but rushing would mean typos, no sleep, crippling anxiety, and me crying into my tea. I’m learning how to prioritize my mental health lol.
My doctors have warned I may need a more invasive surgery with a six-month recovery time, but I’ll schedule that after you’ve got King’s Kiss in your hands. You won’t have to wait long, though!
